Hi hi! I'm getting a silkie in August and I have a lot of questions about hatching chicks under her.

1- I want to know about sneaking some fertilized eggs under her while she's broody. How many eggs would be the limit so she can cover them, where could they go to as a good home after that, and would i have to do anything for the eggs like candle them?

2- How long can I leave the hatched chicks under her?

3-How do I sneak the fertilized eggs under her?

Thanks so much!

If you are 100% sure she's broody you can put eggs under her anytime. She'll probably only be too happy to get some! She'll decide how long to sit on the chicks before getting up. Usually 2-3 days, depending how the hatch go.
I'd suggest getting fertile eggs from a reputable dealer (there are a few members here who sells hatching eggs). And it would be kind of you to let her raise the chicks for the first 6-7 weeks before rehoming them.
