So much contradiction about cedar!!

Ive seen lots of posts saying cedar planks are fine and lots of posts saying cedar planks aren't. I think we all agree that the shavings aren't ok, can we come to an agreement on the wood??

Cedar siding is not normally "Aromatic Red Cedar"

Board have a minute amount of surface area compared to the shavings, and don't give off the fumes.

There will never be "agreement" unless there is an understanding of the differences
