So. Much. Mud!

Hey guys! So at my place, this past weekend Hurricane Florance came. Nothing bad happened just SO MUCH RAIN! Therefore resulting in so much mud. Please help! I actually had to pull a duck out of the mud. Fast fix preferably. should I just put some straw down?

Yeah just put straw down for now to keep them out of the mud as much as possible. You’ll probably have to clean it all up later but it’s better than nothing.

You could also look for some free pallets to lay down.

Thanks for your help guys! I wasn't sure of what to do. Hopefully, no more ducks will get stuck

Deep sand so it drains...

Free pallets are a life saver, but watch how you step as it's easy to catch an ankle in them. We also used sand to sop up a puddle.

yeah, I was thinking sand too but what do I do? just put it on top of the mud?

It all depends on how big an area you have that is designated for the ducks/chickens. Straw is a quick fix that you can clean up later without too much work. Sand is obviously a lot more work and expensive. When using straw after you clean it up grass will still grow.

Yep...That's what I have done because it won't dry up with all The drilling and Ducks in it..
