So, Rootbeer is a Roo?

so this is an update from my other thread. I have 5 baby chicks that I was told were all pullets. This morning I let out my baby chicks and and as they go out in my yard I see one of my “pullets” mount another and attempt to mate with her. These baby chicks are only 12 weeks old. Here is a pic of Rootbeer. If you want better pic just ask!

If they are 12 weeks, then that's a pullet. Mounting is not always about mating. Its about dominance between birds as well. Hens will mount each other to establish who is the dominant hen in the flock.

Ok. Well Rootbeer has thicker legs as well, a more developed comb than the rest and is bigger than all of them nad has a taller tail. I’m just not sure

Pullet! What you saw was most likely an act of dominance.
