So, th girls are laying eggs...

I read back through the thread abt their 1st wks last night. I didn't order jumbos, so was concerned that those 3 keets were so much bigger until R2elk suggested that's what I had. The difference as adults is so minuscule that I didn't think abt it anymore until- the eggs. It will be interesting, if they even hatch.
The jumbos were easy to sex right out of peeping stage- the male makes such a weird noise he startled himself at first. But the other 3 were -different. They still trill & do more of a peep or
barr-reee until they're wound up abt something, then there's not much of a doubt that they're males. -and I say this after listening to countless videos of guinea calls. So 2 jumbo females are laying the eggs but laying both sizes.

April 23rd

How long ago did she lay it? My girls have had 1 a day since they started. They apparently don't know how to tell time, bc I keep them in until afternoon as oft suggested, and have seen them scurry back a couple of times in the afternoon, drop an egg and then wander back out. 🤷‍♀️ stay at home orders, life gets boring, so I peak in the window to see what they're up to. Lol. When I say "drop an egg", I mean DROP. There's logic behind that hard shell.
