Came out this morning and found one of my doves has this lesion at the comisure of her beak
Not draining, hard crusted, probably fatal but the question is do I need to quarantine her ? No other bird in the flock has anything
Thx

There are 3 possibilities: Canker, wet fowl pox or cancer.
Canker presents a foul odor, take a whiff and let us know if it stinks. There is no treatment for wet fowl pox since it's a virus. Birds die from starvation or suffocation. Lesions can be in the esophagus and trachea. Same for cancer.

Hi Thanks for all the advice, I did quarantine just in case and my dove died on Monday, It looks, from the way the lesion grew and was clearly invasive, like it was cancer.
Its sad when I loose a member of my cast.....this bird did a number of great shows.
No other birds have shown a similar lesion so I think we are good.
