So when do the boys start fighting and acting like ...boys?

So right now my two Roos get along. They are about 4 1/2 months. My silkie Patty is the biggest ( bigger than my EE girl of the same age) with a cute fluffy booty. The other is a d’uccle. I haven’t decided which to keep ..or maybe I should start a second coop. They both stay away from me and have their own preference for their girls. Patty hangs out with the 2 other silkies pulleys and sleeps with them at night on the middle perch and the d’uccle Muffy follows the other d uccle girl around and sleeps with her and my EE pullet at the top of the coop. No fighting yet. They do have crowing competitions in the morning. Any clue when it’s going to start to be a problem?

I don't usually see any fighting until the following spring when hormones start to surge again. My bantam roosters will generally fight after that age on and off, or at least have a pecking order established between them.

I had 3 cockerels in my latest batch of chicks, and sold one at 3 months, wondering if I could keep the 2 remaining brothers. They got along 98% of the time, but the other 2%, there'd be wild chases because #2 would occasionally try to grab the pullets behind #1's back, frustrated that the hens wouldn't have him. By 4 months, I was tired of these bursts of chaos and sold #2 at the poultry swap. That was 9 days ago. No more drama.

I have 2 cockerels that started “sparring” at about 7 weeks? Maybe 6. No bloodshed or anything but ruffled feathers and staring st each other, with some mild jumping. Doesn’t last longer than 10 seconds or so

You may not have any issue.I don’t worry about fighting as long as it’s nothing serious,like flogging and making each other bleed.

You may start seeing action now but as someon else mentioned you ay not start having issues till next spring.

All chicks fight,boys worse then girls usually .
