Hey people! This is my first thread so it might be a little off. But whatevs. Okay. So what is your favorite type of chicken? My faves are Polish and Silkies. Unfortunately, I don't have my own Silkie. I do have my own Polish! Not that anyone cares but the Polish is Coliapee. I know. Kinda fancy. But she is a fancy chicken. Pretty cute too.

Have to go with Leghorns as my all time favorites.

My favorites are Black Sex Links (Black Stars) as they are hardy, friendly, egg laying machines. As far a standard breed (since BSLs are hybrids and won't breed true), my favorite standard breed is the Black Australorp. I like them because they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and they are the best layers of the standard, brown egg laying breeds.

My favorite breed is the Wyandotte. Mine have been great layers, beautiful birds, and very personable.

My chickens aren't laying yet. The older ones should have been laying a while ago.

I'm sooooo sad right now. We have to give away our rooster!

He crows kinda loudly and our neighbors complain. Stupid neighbors! If it weren't for them, we would be able to keep him!
