We finally had enough time to work up a workable soft close retrofit kit for the rat proof chicken feeder but as I am a cabinetmaker and cabinet makers are notorious for not liking new materials or processes, I am second guessing myself on if this is really needed and I can think of a potential problem... cold weather. The cylinder will likely need removed in sub zero weather. I put one in the freezer overnight and could tell no difference in it freezing cold or room temperature.
This ought to solve several potential issues with the swinging inward door style feeders. Training, safety, longevity.
Your thoughts please?
