soft egg

my pullet started laying 3 days ago and yesterday had a squish/soft egg shell does anyone know why that is. It was really disgusting and she has not had a egg to day so far do you think she is still learning thanks any help would be great

It's not that uncommon for pullets to lay a shelless egg or two when they first start laying. However, make sure she is getting enough calcium. Provide free choice Oyster shells, and layer feed. You can also crush up egg shells, and feed those to her also.

omg so I got a egg today that had a strong nice shell I guess she was just taking a break for a day. Hopefully no more of those soft eggs.
