We have now gotten 10 dozen eggs from our 6 australorps -- occasionally we get a soft-shelled one, usually on the ground and while they are sleeping on the roost. However we did get one today layed in the nest. It was perfectly shaped but soft. I had to use a fork to pierce it -- it appeared that it was a perfectly good egg inside. Is this edible?? Does anyone know??
Also, it has been raining here for 4 days solid -- will a change in weather affect their laying??
