I have a flock of 4 chickens and my EE started laying a week or so ago. She gives me a beautiful green egg, nice hard shell.

On Sunday morning when I let all the girls out of the coop I noticed a light brown egg that had fallen from the roost sometime in the night. It fell onto the hard linoleum because the girls had kicked all the bedding around. Shell looked a bit soft but couldnt really tell because it was cracked, so I tossed it.

This morning I let them out and found an egg in the bedding thats shell was super soft. Again, someone laid it from the roost. Could've been my SS, BR or BA, who knows they all seem ready to lay.

For the last few weeks I have been feeding them Purina Layena food that has lots of calcium in it and I also offer them a bowl of crushed calcium. I feed them very little snacks and they forage in the yard all day.

While roosting they are literally looking at 2 nests, with fake eggs in them, and I have put up 3 nest boxes on my back porch, which is where my EE lays her egg.

Any ideas?
