if there are any other memebers out there that are military or spouses please read this.... I just found out that the soliders and sailors act is SUPER awesome!!! I called all our debtors and had our APR for car, home, and credit debt lowered from some pretty high rates to WAY low rates... on particular card (which is for emergencys called care credit) we were paying 28.99 percent APR well with the S&SA they lowered it to 4%.... the also are going to retroactive the rates to 2007 because thier policy is active duty not just deployed.... some of them lower the rate for the deployment and an additional 12 months upon return! I jsut wanted to let any one out there know that this is available!!!! I swear why is it that no one tells poeple this stuff..... (if you know of a military memebr please let them know that this valuable program is available to them...

It's about time. It's deplorable the way the military is paid for what they do. It is especially bad for reserve and national Guard troops that have civilian jobs and are used to a much higher pay rate than their active duty pay. Glad their doing something to help.

Oh wow your FRG should have told you. Someone is slacking. Also, check the state you are stationed in...if they charge taxes on vehicles being registered and your state of residence as listed through the military is a different state they CANNOT charge you residence tax on your vehicles...unless you purchase real property in their state and homestead or change your state of residence.

The NC DMV was raping soldiers until I stood in line one day and told about 25 soldiers to get their 2-1 file and bring it down...if their state of residence was another state they could tell NC to shove it.

I had to fight them in court when they revoked my tags for refusing to pay their residence tax. They had to replace my tags for free. Bloodsuckers!

My husband is retired military (21 + years Navy) and we're constantly grumbling because of the way things are being cut on us.

The soldiers and sailors now aren't going to get half of what they're entitled to one day. Its a shame how we treat the ones who serve our country.

this is an act that was made after desert storm and I knew about it but I never used it till today! silly me. But it only applies to deployments with most companies... I have a card that said they do it for ALL active duty doesnt matter if they are deployed or not!

I agree with some others on here. military should be making a better paycheck but I dont think we live to bad. I live in a 250 thousand dollar home. and have two brand new cars and two atv's. I get to stay homw with my kids an raise chickens... what else could a gal ask for... I just wish the electric and gas wasnt so expensive.

I just looked at the military pay scales. They have gone up quite a bit since I was in. Still noy much there for lower enlisted though.
