I got an assortment of banties and one at 3 days old was solid black and feather footed. First I thought it may be a black silkie but then it was obvious it was more sleak then silkies, no top hat look, and only 4 toes it was also single combed.

So far it has been our most active chick and just today I noticed a tid bit of white coming in around the neck with its feathers. It is now 4 weeks old.

I know pictures are needed but what fits this description?

Solid black as chick. (no white whatsoever)
Bantom
Light feathering on legs/feet
single combed

I looked at photos of black cochins, but they have white on them as chicks...same as brahmas...

Thoughts everyone?

Is there a way you can post a picture of it?
That would be very helpful.

Maybe is a black birchen cochin or maybe mottled?

yes, pics for sure... and yes, it most likely won't be a black cochin, I have one and she had lots of white as a chick...

I will try to get some pics today, but from doing some more looking I'm thinking maybe a langshan.
