Solitary chick

How much do you handle a solitary chick if it is being raised as a pet? I don't want it to be lonely, I want it to be used to/like being handled, but I don't want to stress it out either.
 
Ideally you should get two so they can keep each other company. A single chick doesnt grow well from my experience unless you have like a mother hen to keep it company for about the 16 waking hours of the day.
 
I would strongly suggest getting one or two more. Either he will become VERY noisy when you are not there or he'll become TOO people friendly and practically never leave you alone. Trust me... I've had it happen.
