some intermediate questions

IMO... I don't think its right to use other peoples pic without their permission. Even for educational reasons. I know if it was my picture, I would be a little upset that you did not have the respect to ask first.

Come on now, it is a fence post not you or your animals ur house etc IT'S a post ???

Better talk to all the schools across the US they use others pics all; the time for educational purposes and they never ask one time if they can use it.

anyone can take a picture of anyone or anything else in a public setting or internet (as it is a public setting as well). They can further, under many circumstances, present this picture in public for non-commercial purposes--such as posting on a site like Flickr, displaying in an art exhibit, or featuring the image on their blog, discussion board or portfolio. In many jurisdictions, they can sell prints of the picture as artwork (however, I do not believe they can sell the digital image as clipart).

Right or wrong who knows, but by law I'm all good, but she asked a ?? and I didn't want to spend 30 minutes taking a pic and doing everything it takes to publish it on the net and then post it so I used these two, if it makes everyone feel better I'll just remove the pics and the one can just wonder what the description means ??

Annie,
Here is a pic of a corner brace in use - The posts are salt treated 4 by 4's and the diagonal is also a st 2x6.

Thanks folks for the pics. I get it now. 2 sides of my fencing are like that, but the other 2 sides have a board at the top. Not sure that I can change it, put perhaps I can put some extra wiring at the top -- it would look ugly though.

By the way, what is salt-treated? Does that mean it's non-toxic?

Also, Steve, how do you keep predators from digging under that fence?

It's hard to see it but there chicken wire at the bottom, if you look to the right of the 2nd post you can sort of see it. We attach it to the fence and lay about a foot down flat on the ground on the inside of the fence and cover that with dirt.

Our predator problems are pretty much 'possum and owls. The 'possums climb over, we have never had anything even try to dig under.
