Some of my girls are fakers

Why do they go into the nesting box for an hour and come out singing the egg song? I look and there is nothing in there. They have been laying for almost a month now. What's up with that?

I just posted a question about one of mine earlier today so I hope we get some answers. She's been laying almost a month now too, and the last two days we haven't had an egg. Just her going in and out of her nest box for a bit, then singing the egg song each time. I was worried that maybe she was egg bound?

Seems like they would have some symptoms if they were. Not sure what they are up to since they act totally normal.

Some hens just like to rest in the nest. I have seen mine sing the egg song just because. I feel if they are returning to the nests, they are comfortable on the nest and will return to the nest to lay there rather than somewhere else.
