Alright, I posted this originally in the brahma thread and they told me that they weren't brahmas and then made me feel stupid for not knowing a brahma from a mix. I contacted the breeder and he said they were purebred buff brahmas and even seemed a little offended that I suggested that they weren't but still, according to the brahma "people", they're not brahmas so I don't know what to think. Either way, I DON'T CARE! They're beautiful to me, I LOVE their big bright eyes and their easy demeanor and I find it sad that I can't learn about a breed on this forum without being made to feel like an idiot for not being born with the knowledge. Anyway, they're slow-maturing (and that's probably where the similarities end between these guys and true buff brahmas). While my barnyard mixes are all very obvious as to which gender they are, these guys are not - at least to me and they're all the same age. I hatched these guys four weeks ago today and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to which are pullets and which are cockerels. I'm sorry about the quality of the photos (they do get larger if you click on them) and if they make it hard to tell, then I will simply wait but I think it's fun to share photos and play the guessing game, even if I have to look like a fool doing it.
