Just wanted to let everyone know that I built a treadle feeder recently. The only downside is that the hole is too big, so my birds are scooching food out all over the place! I plan to modify the feeder. As it is right now, we just put a brick on it every few days and they clean up all the mess in an afternoon, then we take the brick off so the treadle will work again. I think I'll just add a good lip so that when they go to peck the food out it gets caught by the lip and stays inside the feeder.
Also... should have painted it before I did all the treadle stuff
so it doesn't close 100% but it's a work in progress and it's the very first one we've built so we know better next time!
