Someone made a nest in the box...still no egg

I have 7+ POL pullets and someone scratched around in a nest box today and made a cute little circular nest in it with the straw! No egg though, I looked all over the whole coop and run to see if she accidentally laid it elsewhere. Thought? How long?! Could it still be a while or was she really trying to figure out how this all works?

Mine just started laying. Two at 20 weeks and two at 22 weeks.

My girls did that the day before they laid. 2 laid their first eggs the same morning at 19.5 weeks. I would say it's a good sign.

How common is it for two or more birds to start laying on the same day? I have 7 girls with a hatch date of 3/28, they are 19 weeks old TODAY!

My two leghorns started laying on the same day! Then 2 of my 3 OEGBs started laying just a day apart. My little OEGBs did their "Egg Song" and sat in the nest for a long time the day before they laid their first egg. I was just sure that they laid their egg, just not in the nest box, but since 2 of them did the same thing, now I am thinking that they didn't actually lay their egg that day. They did their "practice run" following the lead of my big girls!
