We are located in the Tri-Cities TN area, and have been unable to find a butcher who is able to process meat birds. Does anyone know of someone??? There are both Amish and Mennonite communities somewhat near us, and I was hoping I could find someone there, but we have not yet been able to locate someone who processes birds.

Yes, I know, we can do it ourselves. It's not gonna happen. Really.

I hope I'm not hijacking too much. Would there be a "official" problem crossing state lines to process? Shipping/moving live birds obviously is not.

I live in Maryville a little below Knoxville. I am also thinking about getting some meat birds. Here is a link that I found. I know there is one listed in Johnson City. I hope this helps.

I am not sure of course if any of these will help you but it's worth a shot

I found a Yoder Brothers on the net in Paris TN, but that is west of Nashville, over 400 miles from me.

I called Chaudhry Halal Meats in Siler City, NC. They process for $4.50 per bird up to 50 birds. Over 50 Birds it is $3.50. Over 100 it is $ 3.00 per bird.

They kill, pluck, clean, vacuum seal each bird. They label each bird with the weight and date of processing.

Is that the going rate?
