Something gutted my chickens

I was on vacation last week. My M-I-L called to tell me something got six of my chickens. One of them was gutted. They couldn’t find the others. I set the live trap Saturday nigh. I put it at the edge of the tree line by my coop. I woke up Sunday and a coon was in the trap. I dispatched him and reset the trap. I just went out to button down a few hatches on my coop since bad weather is approaching. I seen the trap was sprung.

Another coon is in the trap as I type. It is 11:30 PM and I would dispatch this coon right now if my relatives weren’t sleeping. I guess I know what I’ll be doing in the morning. I take the molesting of my chickens personally. As I do with my horses, dog, and cat.

get 'em John T! raccoons will kill all ya got. I wouldn't hesitate, with a raccoon or opossum. The non-poisons snakes I do relocate. The poisonous ones we do dispatch with. Sorry about your birds!
