something is killing our chickens

Yeah there was another attack yesterday and the neighbors beagle was spotted in the coop. We've talked to the neighbors about it.

Remember chicken wire is used to keep chickens in. It does little to keep predators out.

We used the smaller holed chicken wire all over, under and around, then came back with weld ( rabbit) wire half way up on all sides.
My hubby actually dug a footing under all the perimeters and filled it with large rocks to prevent predators from digging under. He also put a claw type clasp on the gate and also a bar because coons are smart enough to open the clasp. The bar lowers into a hole drilled into the flat rock that sits under the gate. If that doesn't keep out the coons and other critters, nothing will!
