I have a defender coop/run from tractor supply. Put my little 3 month old chickens out and 4 nights they we were out and during daylight one got grabbed through the fence. Didn’t see any tracks….
What would grab them between 11:50-12:15pm ?? It had no blood anywhere head gone, wing gone and feathers plucked out and skin exposed on back.

I’ve already put hardwire cloth around the whole run so it’s doubled up now.

Fox may come and try to grab them. Usually when they are pulled through the fence it's raccoons. A game camera may help you identify the predator.

I was thinking raccoon too but haven’t seen any during the day here. I also have super friendly chickens and I hope it didn’t just walk up to the dang thing and meet it’s death.

Raccoons are definitely known to do that for sure. And hawks won't likely leave tracks, but can also do it. Maybe line it with smaller fencing??
