Our chicks are beginning to hatch today, and one had been pipping for over a day with no progress. It got itself stuck and the last time this happened the chick didnt make it, so this time i decided to intervene. I cracked the eggshell in a line around like how the baby would normally hatch and left the baby to get out of the membrane itself, which it was also having a hard time doing, but eventually managed with minimal assistance. However, it came out with a big red sac attached to what looks like his belly button. Ive never seen this before and im quite worried, especially since he is the only chick ive ever helped hatch and hes the only one to have this. Is it something bad? dangerous? please get back too me soon

thanks in advance

It's most likely just the unabsorbed yolk. He'll absorb it, just don't

mess with him and keep others away from him, as they will peck at

it, which could become a problem. He'll absorb the rest with time.

It's not really anything dangerous.
