okay so i have about 30 chickens all separated in different cages. the 4 chickens (2 roosters 2 hens) are free roaming and sleep in a coop i built at night which is a shed with the roost about 5'8 ft high. well i wake up this morning to find all my 4 chickens dead and different parts of the yard. one prob 50 yards from the coop, one about 25 yards and one about 50 yards in the other direction. and the last one is not to be seen. anyone know what comes and kills 4 chickens in one night that can actually catch them all

Chickens are very easy to catch at night, try it sometime. There are lots of animals capable of this, especially this time of year when you got momma coons teaching babies how to hunt, etc. If you don't close them in at night or have some other security, something is bound to get them eventually. even your pens are not safe, they need to be predator proofed to be safe from digging under, chewing through, etc.

Sounds like it could have been a racoon or even a fox. Its hard to tell for sure what it was but make sure your chickens are protected at night.
