So, yesterday, everything looked good with my chicks.....all active, interacting....all the normal stuff. This morning, the runt of my group, who always sorta stayed off by herself at times, seems all but gone. Flat on the floor, breathing very heavy...wont move when other chicks poke or walk on her. Not sure what happened, but doubt she will make it through the day.
Any ideas on what happened?.. or just one of those things

Sounds like the chick was stressed in shipping. Make not be drinking or eating enough. You can scramble an egg and chop it up fine, try to dip its beak into water and give some egg. If you happen to have some poly-vi-sol (no iron) you could give her a drop or two. Being a runt it is weaker. Sorry. Also make sure she is warm.

Agreed, try to get her to eat and drink. Electrolyte may help as well, however, don't be surprised if she doesn't make it. Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

You could try mixing some sugar, molasses or honey with some chick starter and water. Make it into a soup and give it to her with an eyedropper. It might perk her up enough to get her going again...or not :(
Good luck.

All these other suggestions are awesome, I have had luck in the past also (if you have the time) by sitting with the chick wrapped in a warm towel (heat it up in the dryer) and giving it electrolyte infused water from an eye dropper and stroking its back gently. Hope it works.
