Hello all,
My name is Kourtnie and I'll be relocating back to Ohio soon (March 22), where I'll finally be able to build a coop and get some chickens! I have been an avid container gardener for several years now and have wanted to add a few chickens to help with natural pest control and the idea of watching my chickens just tickles me and I'm really looking forward to fresh eggs. I have read several books and have chatted with several chicken owners but I'm always searching for more help, I want to be totally prepared when I do finally get a few. I would like to find a few (maybe 6) Hubbard Isa Browns, from all I've heard and read these are the best brown egg layers and they make for very good companions. No roosters for me, sticking strictly with layers. Looking forward to browsing everything on the site and hopefully meeting a few other backyard chicken enthusiasts!
