I hope this helps solve the mystery, and I'm so sorry about your Silkies and babies. My white Silkie hen was hit twice in one weekend by a hawk, prior to putting netting over their pen. The week before it had killed her friend, my black Silkie.

I mean it's always a possibility. I am going to take pics of my coop.....to see if you can tell me if a raccoon could have squeezed in under one area.
