SOOO......

Hi!

An egg bound hen will look distressed, open mouth panting, squatting, walking like a penguin, vent will be pulsing like crazy.

A broody hen will sit, and sit, and sit on a nest. If you try to remove her or touch her, she will puff up and screech/growl. If you remove her from the nest and put her on the ground, she will be a flat, fluffy, screeching pancake.

Hope that helps!

What I mean by penguin walk is that she will be waddling like a penguin, side to side, trying to squat while walking, wings out sometimes, standing up straight. Does that make sense? I don’t have a video, but a quick search on YouTube for a “broody hen walking” may help.

yours sounds like she is broody
No, I do not have a video but I can tell you a few more details. She was in the nesting box for 3 hours, she diddnt lay an egg, I checked on her once or twice and every time I checked on her she was very puffed up and she growled Loudly but didn't peck. I took her out of her nesting box because I wanted to make sure she didn't get dehydrated, she still walked really puffed up and was still squawking but quieter and was NOT acting lethargic.
