Hi! I am a new Turkey poult "Mom" of less than a week. My first poultry ever. One of my two three week old babies has a scrape/cut on top of beak that I would like to clean off and put something on to prevent infection but don't have a clue what to use. Its not bad, but would like to keep it that way. It was a bruise yesterday and a sore today--I think from banging the beak on the 1/4 in coated wire on side of the pen... I was going to use the Veterycin spray I use on all the other pets & horses on Q tip but wasn't sure if that was OK for turkeys--or it OK to use something like neosporin... I want to make sure I am doing the correct thing for the little one, and don't kill her with kindness or ignorance. Advice appreciated!

We use blue kote on our turkeys with no problems. Spray it on a q-tip and then apply it to the wound. If you get it on your hands, use a kitchen scrubby and soap and it will mostly rub off.
