Sore on Foot

We have been socializing and letting the babies get to know us. We saw them pick at their feet and noticed they were dirty so I used a wet wash cloth and gently wiped at her feet. This is what was underneath.

What is this? How can I prevent it?

It is soreness and infection from contact with and build up of feces and moisture. Clean their pen more frequently and make sure that it is dry.
