Our golden Wette Lucy has a worn spot on her beak. She and our other chicken, Betty rubbed their beaks on the Rapp wire of their coupe. Any good advice for helping it heal? Do I need to supplement their feed?
Attached is a picture of our feed and Lucy.

Can you post any pictures of the wire fencing? Are they being chased into the wire, or trying to get through it? This is a common injury. Besides chickenwire and wire fencing other possible causes are a sharp edge on a feeder.

They stay mainly in their coop there’s only two of them. They rub on this one wire area here’s also our feed and water container containers. Thank you again for all the advice and we love your account name. We let them out most days out of the coop. There’s been a week where it rained and they had to stay in the coop for two days in a row.

They may be rubbing on the wire when they see you and want out. You may need to put some cardboard or plastic board that they cannot eat just over that particular area, or sit something in front of that area, such as a feeder or waterer, to keep them away.

Thank you. They can get pretty bored staying in while being used to going out. Sometimes you can make a swing, or put some big rocks or tree trunk blocks to climb on.
