I butchered the three remaining Cornish X chickens today. I waited too long, they were14 weeks and had A LOT of fat on them. They free ranged and they were getting around fine.
One of them has sores on her back and thighs. I guess my roosters must have been bothering her, although I never saw them try anything. Is the chicken okay to eat if I cut the meat with sores off? She was HUGE and her breast looks fine and all the organs looked good, no fluid in the cavity. She even had eggs developing.
I will try to post pictures tomorrow. my cell phone is in roam at home and never sends pictures until i get in a service area.
