I have been reading older posts and have found that roosts should be 12-18" away from the wall and each other. The question I have is how high should the roosts be? I will have to do stadium style roost due to space issues.

Where should I put the lowest one? How high can the top one be?

Thanks for your suggestions.

For standard chickens, my first roost is 3 ft off the ground, the next 4 and then 5 ft is the highest. They need to be 12-18 apart so they don't poop on each other while roosting Chickens will go as high as they can, so it's up to you how high they go! I have silkies, so, I have a ladder for them to hop up on, and they roost with the big girls. Hope I helped you!

Roost height is not super critical, as long as the lowest roost is higher than the nest boxes, or they will roost in them and give you poopy eggs.

And they still might roost in the nest boxes. Especially those big, dumb, clumsy, messy, lazy, stinky, meat birds known as Cornish Crosses.

Gotta get them in the freezer.
