Hi ya'll!

My Hovabator started cooling off. It's 97 degrees.

Turns out, the temperature "wafer" was loose and the adjustable nut just came off (for those who have this one, you'll get it). I opened the top and reattached the temp wafer back to the post, but I can't get the temp up.

I've put a heating blanket on top to see if I can raise the temp until morning, but do you think this "fix" will work? Do you think a temp of 97 has killed the chicks? Any other ideas?

The low temperature for a while would most likely be okay. Broody hens get off their nests and some incubators are programmed to cool down periodically. As to how to raise the temperature, I have no clue, but insulating it, as you have done, sounds like a good start.
