There was a pair of foxes terrorizing the chicken flocks in this area last summer. The neighbor's dog chased them off only to be attacked in the bushes. No damage to the dog, the dog was about 20 pounds. But I now no longer believe that foxes won't attack small(er) dogs.
Mowing all the areas around everyone's chicken houses finally allowed one of the neighborhood teenagers to shoot the foxes. Three nice, fat red foxes. In early fall mowing the pastures again revealed a pair of grey fox roaming the area.
They were shot also.
