In the Brooder
Hello, everyone. I'm new here, so I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong.
I have a hen who has not been doing so well for the past few days. Lethargic, not eating or drinking, runny white poop with solid green in it. After ruling out mites, lice, and worms, the internet suggested sour crop or an impacted crop. I did feel a small squishy area on her, around the chest area on the right side, and upon lifting up her feathers, saw that the skin appears green/blue in that area? Almost like bruising or like there is colored liquid inside?
I've been giving her water with electrolytes and diluted apple cider vinegar, intermittently, with a dropper. Offered greek yogurt with olive oil, no interest. Tried to massage the areas and induce vomit, no luck. There is no foul smell.
This morning, she had a hard ball around the bottom of her throat/upper chest. It's medium sized. I'm a bit stumped. Her crop does not look like the photos I see online of impacted and sour crops, it's not that large, and it's in more specific areas, if that makes sense.
I'm almost worried it's a tumor or something? Which makes me feel like I'm torturing her by continuing to tip her over and massage it.
Closest avian vet is over 2 hours away and it's not financially feasible for us. I need help, I don't know what to do. Thank you
This is the squishy discolored area that I first noticed yesterday.
