Sourdough starter

Hello,
I have a whole wheat sourdough starter that has gotten a bit out of control. We need to scale it down and throw a very large qt. out. Its just water and whole wheat flour thats fermented. Can my flock have at it?

You could advertise it in a different forum on byc, I 'm sure somebody would want sourdough starter... Heck, I want sourdough starter. Can you just add regular flour instead of wheat? How much do you need to start a loaf? I agree about cooking it first (who knows how the bacteria in the fermentation process would affect chickens)... Let me know if you would want to give it away.
