Do you buy the Food Grade DE? If so, where can I find it? I've looked online and the shipping and handling is outrageous!

I've got to try to find some in NE TX as well!

Ebay has a bunch, but I would rather find it locally.

We buy food grade DE at our local feed store where we buy our chicken supplies. We are located in Central Texas.

I get mine from the feed store too. 50# bag runs about $22

Welsummer, where in central TX are you?

Please make sure that you are feeding food grade DE. If it is it will say food grade DE and it should look just like baking flour. If you got food grade DE for $22.00 for 50 #s you got a great deal! I buy the Perma Gaurd DE and it is a little pricey but a little goes along way.

Can anyone post a list of "food grade" brands? I have been calling around in south Texas looking for it. Place will say they have it, but when I go in, the bag does not state food grade explicitly. Therefore, I am unsure about it and haven't bought any yet!

We buy Perma Guard too. We just purchased a 50lb. bag for $23.99 at our local feed store.

Broke Down Ranch: We are between Temple and Waco. Where are you located?

Down here where I'm at, everyone looks at me like I come from another planet when I ask if they have any food grade DE. I guess we are still behind the times over here???

I have heard of the food grade being pricey but it has always been fairly cheap here. When I first started buying it a few years ago it was only like $15 a bag
