It has been hot here, and the quail just go nuts when I refill their water jugs, not that they are short on water but apparently they are intrigued by the pouring water, almost like cats! I have a little solar powered bird bath fountain thing that doesn’t work all that well outside with our constant wind (the water all blows away!) so I put it in a bread pan full of water and put it in the quail enclosure to see what would happen. At first they were terrified, then they got bold and curious, but after the novelty wore off they ignored it and as it was making a huge mess even without the wind, I shut it down and cleaned up. I tried but nobody was real impressed with my water feature!
