The Red Roosters are a mysterious chapter of unknown founding having a particullary strong association with the chicken. They take great pride in this heritage by adorning their helmets with crests that apear like the combs of a Rooster. Their captains are known for crowing over their vox casters which they sometimes connect to megaphones as they lead the charge into battle.

The high status of the chicken is clearly seen by the fowl rescue operations the space mariners execute during a purge of a condemned hive city. Fowl are carefully gathered up and swiftly carted off to chapter strongholds as the city is then liberated from its location on the map.

Tactical operations for these rescue & recon teams often times involves egg hunts. These egg hunts are typically setup by the veterans for the chapter neophytes. In some cases the veterans will participate in orchestrating these training excercises while under live fire from snipers posted about the search area. The team that survives the test with the most eggs wins.
