I have a 22 week old Spangled OEGB cockerel that needs to be rehomed. I have him, another cockerel the same age and 7 pullets (same age). Hand raised them all together from chicks.
My OEGB roo is very aggressive towards me, and has gotten to the point that he has no fear of me at all. He is not aggressive towards the rest of the family. I usually arm myself with a broom or plastic rake when I am around him to fend off his constant attacks, but he doesn't even pay the broom or rake any attention anymore. He crows a lot, which I know is a thing roosters do....and technically we are not supposed to have a rooster where I live (hens are OK) but we are pretty rural and several other folks within about a 1 mile radius also have roosters.
I am looking to rehome him based on his aggressive nature, and when I got the chicks I was hopefully that maybe I would get lucky with the straight run bantam and not end up with any roos (yea, unrealistic I now know...).
He is a beautiful bird and am sure would be perfect for someone else. I don't want to cull him, so I am trying to find someone who would be interested in taking him(not for food would be my preference)
