Spangled x BB Red OEGB Cross

So my 8yo son adopted his much loved Spangled OEGB cockerel that was rescued from a wildfire a few months back. We have the opportunity to pick up a bb red oegb pullet and I'm wondering what color they would produce if we hatched their eggs. (Sorry, if it's a silly question! I'm an Orpington gal- OEGB is a whole new world I'm learning about!!)

My understanding is you will get BB red split to spangled and then if you breed those back to the spangled or to each other you'll get more spangled
