Sparrow

Hi I found a sparrow chick on the road, I have been feeding him and he quickly bonded with me. Should I release him or should I keep him as he is hand raised?
He's very tame and still can't eat on his own.

I've had him for almost a week now, he doesn't seem to be afraid of my cats so I'm worried if i release him he won't know what to do.

He turned out to be a dunnock, I named him Raymond, last week I had the window open for him to get fresh air and one of my familys cats pushed it open properly and got him, I'm devastated
