Special diet prior to culling?

I have some extra roosters that I plan to use as meat birds. I have never done this before so I have been reading a lot of posts on how to do it, however, I have not come across anything that mentions diet prior to killing. I know that cattle farmers feed the cows something special prior to butcher. Is it beneficial to feed the birds more corn or something prior to killing?

Corn is just a fattening ingredient, so unless you want excess fat. . . .

Honestly I don't change their diet at all for butchering. If anything I just don't have them eat within 12-24 hours prior to butchering, as it wastes whatever food was in their crop, and can be messy. To me, their diet should be full of good food (not just corn, wheat, and soy) throughout their life to allow for much more delicious and actually flavorful meat.

Ok, they have had layena pellets after their chick starter. They are a little over 4 months old now. I haven't and don't think I want to go through the process of...neutering (can't think of the chicken term for it), does it really make that much of a difference in tenderness? I imagine I will be doing this more frequently as I will end up with more roosters than I want.
