Speckled Sussex Rooster

I have a 25 week old SS rooster, and for a while now he has been a great rooster. Always calling them when he finds food (while free-ranging and while in pen), and always watching for predators. Hes never tried to hurt me, but lately he has been trying to force fully breed my hens ( light brahmas and SS hens) I only have 1 laying so far, and the other hens havent started. The one thats laying allows breeding, but the others do not, but he grabs them by the back of the head, they scream like crazy, and he tries to force himself on them. Is there anything I can do to change this?

How old is he? He's probably just got a hormone rush. Once the hens start laying he'll calm down. You could separate him if you have the space for it, but wait long enough and he'll calm down.

Hes 25 weeks old.

Definitely a hormone rush. Give him a couple weeks. He's just getting used to being a rooster. Like I said, you could separate him, but you don't have to.

I actually just seperated him. Hopefully he calms down

It can be hard to watch young rooster when they start to breed, but he will calm down with some time.

I agree, he's being a hormone crazed boy. In time he should calm down and behave better.
