Speckled Sussex with bantams?

I love the look of Speckled Sussex, and I keep reading about how sweet and friendly they are. I have 5 bantams (pullets and a hen). Does anyone keep Sussex with bantams? I'd like to get a pullet if there won't be problems. Thanks!

Bantams and Large fowl can coexist together with no problems. I have always kept both together for over 20 years with no issues. I only keep chickens as pets. I can post pix or just view my albums.

Oh and it's hard introducing just one bird. I would get two at least.

The colors are just beautiful! I have a bitty bantam too--a serama. So the Speckled looks so big next to it!

The size difference is huge. It's all about temperament.

To be truthful, I only have space for two more birds. I want a Polish, so that would be one, and the Speckled Sussex the other. I have 30 ft. of run, but the coop won't hold more than two more.

The Polish can get picked on very badly in mixed flocks. Yes even by bantams.
Keep her poof trimmed to help her see and she will fare better.

If you can bring the Polish AND sussex in at the same time it will help them both.

I have a mixed flock of big birds and bantams, and it's fine. The SS hens are delightful! Very human interactive, and beautiful. I've never done Polish, but any birds with a topknot may have problems in a mixed flock, especially as an only individual of that type.
