Speckledhen your opinion is needed on Barred Rock chicks

My bantam Silkie hatched a 4 large egg's for me and I believe two of them are pure Barred Rocks.I knew there was a good chance since the egg's came out of Moses and Elijah's pen who are both BR's.My 3 BR girls are in there with them so I knew if any of the egg's I picked were BR's they should be pure.I believe one is a pullet and one is a cockeral.Tell me what you think?

The first one looks like a cockerel and the second one a pullet. The pullet has some brown on it? or is that just the light or dirt? If she has brown, she's not pure. Is her comb single? It almost looks like a pea comb in the pic. With BR fathers, it's very hard sometiimes to tell if the chick is pure till its older because they are all barred.

The comb is single and that is the sunlight coming thru the coop.Still may not be pure but I thought they may possibly be.

Hard to say. I had some Silver Phoenix over BR hens and the males looked like BR pullets, till those combs got red at three weeks old, LOL. When the sire is the BR, you may have to wait for them to fully feather out before you know.
