We were so surprised when this hen became broody.I have been putting Guinea eggs in her nest and wondering how many guineas eggs could a broody Spitzhauben set on for good hatch? Any info ,advice ,past experiences would be great, never had a hen go broody! thanks

I usually wait til the hen has actually started setting. By waiting til she's actually setting, I can then see exactly how many eggs she can physically handle. And will have the freshest replacements possible. Then I replace her eggs with a similar number of replacement eggs. At night. So she doesn't try to kill me. And so she stays quiet and on the eggs after I'm done.

Thanks for the response. She was sitting for a few days and I've placed eggs under her each day with no trouble.I have 8 now that seem an ok "fit'' since guinea eggs are small I'm going to stop there ,wait and hope for the best.
